Get Involved
The Crescent City Cafe is a grassroots effort that is led completely by volunteers and supported by donations. We are young adults who want to serve on our feet. We are churches and businesses that want to give back to our community. We are people who are homeless or marginalized and are so grateful for the love and respect that we are shown.
The Crescent City Cafe encourages the support of the entire community - and needs it to be successful. Below is a list of ways to get involved.
- Support the Crescent City Cafe financially
- Volunteer
- Give an item on the Cafe’s wishlist
We appreciate each and every donation. It costs about $500 per Cafe, or about $5 per meal, when we factor in food, security, publicity and insurance costs. Donations are tax-deductible but must be written to Connect Missions, our parent 501(c)3. To give, you can make an online donation now, or you can send a check.
Donations by check: please make checks payable to “Connect Missions” and mail them to:

Volunteer with the Crescent City Cafe:
We ask the young adults of New Orleans to volunteer for each cafe. Through volunteering together, New Orleans’ young adults are connected to one another in service to our community. It’s our turn to give back and to create change.
We need volunteers to help during each cafe and with behind-the-scenes administrative stuff. If you like to be on your feet, serve the homeless by taking orders or working in the kitchen during the Cafe. If you’re a go-getter and want to help with fundraising and publicity, we’ve got on-going needs. Either way, e-mail Georgia McBride and tell her how you’d like to be a part of the Crescent City Cafe team!
The Crescent City Cafe serves those who are homeless with dignity in love. Thanks to a fantastic partnership with Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church, we serve breakfast in a beautiful, clean, safe facility. In response to our previous wishlist, we received linen napkins and table service from generous donors!
- Assorted kitchen knives
- Industrial food processor
- Extra large mixing bowls - two
- Industrial rolls of aluminum foil
- Constant Contact Membership - We’d love to utilize an e-newsletter service to keep in touch with donors and volunteers. Please e-mail Kim Thompson if you’d like to donate the cost for one year of service. (Approx $15/month)
If you would like more information, or have any questions, please e-mail us, or contact a member of our leadership team.
